First Rain By Isak Fragrances - The essence of geeli mitti ki khushboo
One of my most beautiful memories of childhood is the terrace: music playing in a tape recorder, the smell of petrichor, and me dancing in the rains with my mom and sisters. This memory is filled with so much joy and peace—it fills my heart with love.
Today, the smell of First Rain, that scent of mitti (soil) on parched earth, takes me right back to those soulful evenings. I never realized that a scent could have such a strong connection to my memories, but yes, it’s a known fact. It becomes real only when you experience it.
As I grew, I started Isak Fragrances, and one of the first perfumes I was passionate about creating was the smell of earth after the rains. After extensive research and iterations, I discovered that we could capture this beautiful fragrance in a bottle through India’s traditional deg & bhapka method. This process uses actual mitti from the banks of the Ganga River and broken clay tumblers, combined with steam and copper utensils, to create an authentic representation of petrichor.

Although the limited nature of the production caused stockouts, we quickly adapted to scale production without compromising the
